ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello. My name is Tair Rafiq, and I am very pleased to meet you. From an early age growing up in Rotherham’s Eastwood Village, I nurtured a love of making and sharing stories. As well as being a playwright, I am also a novelist, poet, director, and producer. Before ‘PARADISE SQUARE’, I was involved in creating several live performance productions, including my previous Arts Council funded project ‘THE SECRET HISTORY OF CAKE’. I have published my fantasy novel ‘DAISY AND THE DWARF DRAGON’, and recently my poem ‘SQUASHED BY THE MOON’ was featured on BBC Radio Sheffield’s UPLOAD programme. I am a partner of CREATE SHEFFILED and IMAGINE ROTHERHAM. I am also an active member of several local creative groups, including Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance, Embrace Arts Rotherham, and The Outline Arts collective. I am thrilled to present my latest project and share my love of stories to inspire a new generation of writers, performers, and artists.
